Online you'll hear all about hiraeth, this deep yearning to return to your homeland, specifically Cymru. This feeling is the undercurrent that flows through my pen whenever I write. You will find Welsh myth bubbling up through tales of childhood self-discovery; familiar landscapes setting the scenes for simple stories. I hope my writing will bring you home with me to beautiful Cymru, and imbue you with the immense, ancient longing for our folklore woven into my words.
About The Author
Chloe Cadogan lives nestled in the South Wales Valleys, with her family and animal companions.
She takes inspiration from the Bannau Brycheiniog on her doorstep, the vast history of Welsh culture and of course her wild and wonderful son.
With a background in Psychology and Education, and her own history of physical and mental illness, Chloe aims to tell stories which will empower children to feel at peace with who they are. The world is so often set up to put children into easily-categorised boxes, but children deserve to discover themselves free from the weight of adult expectations.
Having spent the early years of her childhood in England, one of her deepest regrets is that she did not have the opportunity to grow up surrounded by the Welsh language. She makes up for this today with an almost 700 day streak on Duolingo and a habit of communicating yng Nghymraeg with her family.
Chloe hopes that her love of Cymru will encourage children to develop close ties with their own homelands and cherish the rich cultures they are immersed in which can so easily be taken for granted.
